kind of materials can Abrasive Waterjet cut?
Abrasive Waterjet can virtually cut anything.
Can
Abrasive Waterjet cut very brittle material?
Of course, brittle material such as glass, tile, and ceramic can
be cut easily. Abrasive Waterjet creates almost no cutting force.
How
thick can Abrasive Waterjet cut?
Depending on material. In most case, 2"-3" thick material
can be machined quite easily. 6" thick titanium was cut by
Abrasive Waterjet before.
What
about the surface finish?
The quality of surface finish depends on many factors such as the
type of abrasive and feed rate. Please contact us for more information
and samples.
Will
Abrasive Waterjet create any burr?
Yes, but we can control it depending on the surface fishish required.
What
about precision?
Abrasive Waterjet can cut it relatively high precision (+/- .003")
Laser
cutting will generate some heat that might change the property of
my material. Can Abrasive Waterjet overcome this problem?
Absolutely,the heat from cutting process is so minimal that you
can ignore it. There will be no heat effect to your parts at all.
Additionally, we even cut under water.
Comparing
to other machine processes, is it more expensive to use Abrasive
Waterjet Machining?
Depending on your type of work,. abrasive waterjet machining gives
you no fraying, cracking, or warping suface. This advantage alone
can save you a lot of waste. Pre-drilling is not required since
the jet can pierce the part by itself. We can even stack material
and cut many layers of parts at the same time.
